We recently learned that a person at our school has been diagnosed with COVID-19. This individual has been contacted by the district and actions have been taken in accordance with the district’s COVID-19 protocol, with direction from the Tri-County Health Department. As part of this process:
The person is being kept home from school to monitor for symptoms.
The person’s activities when they could have spread COVID-19 were assessed.
The people who were close contacts of the person with COVID-19 are instructed to stay home from school following quarantine guidelines.
Anyone who is required to quarantine will be contacted directly with further instructions. For any student who is quarantined, learning will continue remotely at home through SeeSaw or Google Classroom.
If you have not been contacted, your student will continue to attend school on their regular schedule.
It remains important that students and families continue to follow all safety protocols, wear a mask, wash hands frequently, and maintain social distancing. Families should also screen their students at home every day before sending them to school. As a reminder, if your child has any symptoms, please keep your child home and contact your school.
If your child develops symptoms consistent with COVID-19:
Continue to keep your child home from school and avoid other activities around other people.
Notify the school.
Seek medical care and testing for COVID-19.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to maintain a safe and healthy school environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you have further questions, please contact Principal Tom Ciolek at 303.287.0261 firstname.lastname@example.org.
